MUSIC PARTNERS PROGRAM
The Brooklyn Conservatory of Music's Music Partners program, created over ten years ago, currently reaches 28 public and private schools, youth and senior centers in Brooklyn and Queens, serving over 3,000 people each year. Music Partners provides musical instruction to people who, without this program, would not otherwise have the chance to study music as part of their day. Classes involve students every week in a hands-on, intensive curriculum over the course of an entire year. In addition, in all of the schools, and youth and senior centers the Conservatory serves, a sequential program of study is provided over several years. Some of the programs Music Partners offers are: Orff-Kodaly Music and Movement Program; Recorder ensemble; String Orchestra; Band; Senior Center Choirs, and Music Therapy classes for children with special needs. Other programs are also available. For more information about Music Partners, call (718) 622-3300.
