DIPLOMA & MUSIC CERTIFICATE PROGRAMS
DIPLOMA PROGRAM
Since 1959, the Conservatory's location in Queens has offered both an undergraduate (requiring four years of study) and a graduate (two years of study) diploma program for students who wish to pursue a career in music.
Students major in one more more of the following: piano, voice, an orchestral instrument or theory and composition. While the Conservatory is not a degree-granting institution, course credits are generally transferable to other music schools and university programs. Alumni have gone on to further studies at such schools as Indiana University, The Juilliard School and Manhattan School of Music, as well as professional performing and teaching careers throughout the world.
Foreign students may obtain an F1 (student) visa in order to study, and the Conservatory offers English as a Second Language courses to complemetn international students' studies.
