Course Cancellation
Brooklyn Conservatory of Music reserves the right to cancel a class due to insufficient enrollment. If a class is cancelled, the student will receive a prorated refund for all remaining sessions. If the student is not enrolled in other lessons or group classes, registration and installment fees will be refunded as well. Refunds take six to eight weeks to process.
Withdrawal/Refunds
All withdrawal requests must be submitted in writing to the Registration Office. No refunds will be given after the student’s fourth week of lessons or classes. Students or parents requesting withdrawals within the first four weeks will be held responsible for prorated tuition for completed sessions (including absences) plus 20% of the total contracted tuition. If a student withdraws prior to the start of the semester, the student will be held responsible for 10% of the contracted tuition. Registration and installment fees (if any) are not refundable in the event of withdrawal. Students who are on the payment plan and withdraw are responsible for the remaining charges on their account as determined under the withdrawal policy. Refunds take 12-16 weeks to process.
Personal Property
The Conservatory is not responsible for personal property either lost or damaged on our premises.
Materials
The student is responsible for providing his or her own music books, sheet music, instruments, and materials, except where fees have been charged along with the class tuition.
