Chamber Music
Chamber music, or small ensemble playing, is one of the most exciting and rewarding ways to share music-making with fellow musicians and to improve your own playing. Students who can read music will be evaluated and assigned to a level-appropriate group. All groups will then receive 12 coaching sessions by faculty members.

Intro to Piano Want to learn how to play the piano, but feel that it’s too late to start, or you don’t want private lessons? In this group class, you will join other beginners to learn the basics of piano technique and music theory.

Intro to Ukulele Ukulele students will learn chords and melodies to fun classic songs in folk, rock, pop, classical, & jazz repertoires. Students will learn basic reading skills in standard notation, tablature, and chord diagrams.
Jazz Instrumental Lab Aspiring Jazz musicians will treasure this opportunity to rehearse in an ensemble and develop the technique and confidence for public performance. Adult students at an intermediate level or higher please contact the Registrar at 718.622.3300 for personalized placement.
Jazz Vocal Workshop Tap into your inner soul diva while gaining valuable performance experience. Each week perform in front of your peers and rapidly strengthen your chops with the support of an experienced jazz vocal coach and a professional pianist. For three weeks out of the semester, students will rehearse and then perform with a professional jazz trio.
Sonidos del Tango Explore the exciting rhythms, melodies, and styles of the music of Argentina. Learn tango styles ranging from classical to contemporary while utilizing elements of improvisation. Best suited for instrumentalists at intermediate or higher levels.
Vocal Technique Geared for both experienced and beginning vocalists, this class examines the mechanics of singing. Breath control, range, pitch, and other essential aspects of the vocal art are addressed in detail.
