DIPLOMA & CERTIFICATE PROGRAMS
The Diploma Program of the Brooklyn-Queens Conservatory of Music, located in New York City, is designed for students wishing to pursue a career in music. Majors are offered in jazz and classical Piano, Voice, all instruments, Theory, and Composition. Classes take place at the Conservatory's location in Flushing, Queens.
The Diploma Program offers a program of undergraduate study leading to the Professional Diploma, and a program of graduate study leading to the Graduate Diploma.
The Professional Diploma requires four years of full-time study. The prerequisite for entry into this program is a high school diploma or equivalent degree. Students are eligible to enter this program after having had appreciable musical training in the past. The Conservatory is approved by the government to accept foreign students.
The Graduate Diploma requires two years of full-time study. This program is open to students who have earned the Professional Diploma at the Brooklyn-Queens Conservatory or a comparable baccalaureate-level music degree or diploma from another recognized school, university, or conservatory.
Diploma Program students have gone on to careers as music teachers and performers, or have chosen to further their music education at schools including Manhattan School of Music, Columbia University and Indiana University.
