About the Brooklyn-Queens Conservatory of Music
Founded in Brooklyn in 1897 as the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music, the Brooklyn-Queens Conservatory of Music opened its Flushing, NY, campus in 1956. The Conservatory is one of the oldest and largest nonprofit community schools of the arts in the nation, providing music instruction for students who span a wide range of ages and abilities. In accordance with its mission, the Conservatory strives to remain affordable and accessible to the diverse communities it serves.
