Tristan began playing guitar age 14 at school where he developed an intense interest in classical, blues, pop and funk styles.
At age 17 he began guitar lessons at the Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne, Australia and in 2000 successfully auditioned for the Bachelor of Music at said college on classical guitar and completed the course in 2003 with honours.
Tristan attended the 'School for F.M. Alexander Studies' part time from 2003-2013 where he became very proficient in and knowledgeable about the Alexander technique which influenced his teaching and performance significantly and became a rich part of his music teaching generally.
He has worked for over 10 years in Australia’s most prestigious schools and studios as a music educator, expert guitar teacher and ensemble leader.
After college Tristan's interest turned to more modern styles and has has played as a session guitarist and backing vocalist in many hip hop, soul, pop and funk bands.
He has toured the East coast and West coast of Australia numerous times and In 2011 played at Byron Bay Blues & Roots Festival on the bill with the likes of Bob Dylan, John Legend, Derek Trucks, Elvis Costello and many more. He also toured with an Australian rock band opening for INXS on their Coast to Coast tour in 2012.
Tristan moved to the United States in July 2013, bringing a broad range of skills, experience and enthusiasm with him, hungry to be a part of music education in the USA.
